Not only am I always trying to make things fit into our budget, but I am always trying to keep our food as additive free as possible. That is why when my 15 year old son wanted protein shakes from the store to help him bulk up at the gym I did a little research and looked into making our own. I couldn't find any decent simple recipes to fit my needs except for one, however this person didn't give proper measurements. Because I didn't know how much a "scoop" of whey or a "packet" of stevia actually measured out to. I decided to do some experimentation and I think I came up with something that tastes pretty good, hopefully others can find this recipe useful too.
If you are trying to lose weight you could x out the sugar and go full on stevia. Keep in mind that if you are looking for a meal replacement there are no added vitamins or minerals.
I found the whey powder at a local bulk foods store for $4.55 and it is enough to make this recipe at least 4 times, if not 6. What a money saver! I bought the jar at Walmart for under $5 and it held this recipe x 2.
Chocolate Whey Protein Shake Mix
2 cups whey protein
1 cup cocoa powder
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup stevia (the kind that swaps out cup for cup with sugar)
Mix all ingredients in a food processor until fully blended.
That's it!
Mixing instructions
When mixing for drinking, add 1 cup milk with 1 scoop mix (equals 1 1/2 T.) Mix in the blender or with a shaker cup. Stirring alone isn't enough agitation for this recipe.

We took the scoop below out of the cappicino mix, but I measured it out, it equals 1 1/2 T.
I was surprised by how filling this mix was. I had to do a little sampling and I didn't even completely drink a full serving and I am stuffed!
