One thing I didn't like about it was their mode of application. I didn't like sticking my hand in a jar every morning. I decided to try putting it in an old deodorant container, and it worked!
I have been using this deodorant for over a year now. It works different than antiperspirant which uses chemicals to clog your sweat glands. This deodorant allows your body to sweat like it was designed to do, but it works in 3 ways:
1. The baking soda neutralizes the odor.
2. The coconut oil is a natural bacteria and fungus inhibitor, it helps odor from starting and it moisturizes your skin.
3. The corn starch absorbs wetness and helps you to feel dry.
I have not had a problem with odor or wetness while using this. I wash in the morning, apply and I'm good to go. I have not noticed much for staining except after I had been wearing it for many months, and this was mostly located on my bras. It was a simple fix. I used some laundry stain spray and washed them, the oil was gone.
There are so many reasons to use natural beauty products but you don't need me to harp on you about health benefits. Maybe you just like to save money? No matter your reason, I am here to serve, and this is the method I use.
Ingredients:
5 or 6 T. coconut oil
1/4 cup corn starch
1/4 cup baking soda
2 or 3 empty and clean deodorant cartridges
1 t. essential oil (only if you desire a scent)
Use a funnel to get your oil mixture into the narrow opening of your cartridge. Watch carefully as they fill up fast.
I did have a couple days when I first switched where my skin was mildly irritated. I don't know what caused this, but it was short lived. Some say it's a transitional thing. Could be. Be patient, it gets better and quickly.
Here is a bonus that no one else will tell you: because it's all natural, feel free to paint it on in other sweaty areas (ahem, that crease under your boobs!) Sounds silly, but when it's hot outside, it's soothing.
